William Byron Earns Pole by 0.098 over Joey Logano for Sunday’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway

AVONDALE, AZ — ONE AND DONE! William Byron was the last car to make a qualifying run in Saturday’s qualifying session for the Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway. He powered his №24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet to P1 nipping Cup Champion Joey Logano to earn the Busch Light Pole award.

Byron earns the pole with a lap of 133.680 mph for Sunday’s Shriners Children’s 500 (3:30 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Byron’s margin was just 0.098 over Joey Logano. Next was Hocevar only 0.015 off the 22!
