CONCORD, NC — AJ Allmendinger becomes the first non-playoff driver to win in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with a dramatic and emotional win Sunday in the Bank of America 400 on the Charlotte Road Course. It was Dinger’s first Cup win of the 2023 season, his first at the Charlotte ROVAL and the third of his Cup Series career — all on road courses.

Elimination: Despite his 3rd place at the Roval, Kyle Busch was eliminated from Championship contention as the NASCAR Cup Playoff Round of 12 came to a close. Also eliminated were Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, and Bubba Wallace.

Moving into the Round of 8 are: Byron, Truex, Hamlin, Larson, Buescher, Reddick, Bell, and Blaney. The Round of 8 starts Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 15, then moves to Homestead-Miami October 22nd, and then Martinsville October 29 to determine the Championship 4 that will compete for the Cup title at Phoenix on Nov 5.
