SPEEDWAY, Ind. — The NASCAR Cup Series race at the Indy Road Course ends in wild overtime drama with Tyler Reddick emerging from a 7 wide battle into Turn 1 to win Sunday‘s Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Another win for the № 8 RCR Chevrolet, with Austin Cindric (№ 2 Team Penske Ford) 2nd and Harrison Burton in the Wood Brothers № 21 Ford in 3rd.
The Big Movers
Chase Elliott’s lead in both our GFT NASCAR AI Driver Rankings and the NASCAR Cup Series Driver Points is so big, his 16th place finish didn’t impact his P1 position, nor that of P2 Ross Chastain who finished 27th, P3 Kyle Larson who finished 35th, or Ryan Blaney in P4 who finished 26th on Sunday. With the win Reddick moved up 3 spots from P13 to P10. The big loser on the day was Kevin Harvick who fell 5 spots to P17, primarily due to how much weight our AI algorithms place on wins of which Harvick has 0.
