LEBANON, TN — On Track House Racing’s “home track” Ross Chastain drives his Chevrolet Camaro wire to wire, earning Pole position in Qualifying Saturday and then winning the Ally 400 Sunday night at Nashville Superspeedway. Martin Truex Jr finished 2nd with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin 3rd. Hendrick Motorsports brought home 4th — 6th: Chase Elliott 4th, Kyle Larson 5th, and William Byron 6th. The remaining top 10 finishers were: C. Bell P7, Erik Jones P8, Kyle Busch P9, and AJ Allmendinger P10.
“This is incredible,” a grinning Chastain said. “This is why every little kid out there, anyone in the world when you get criticized, and you‘re going to if you‘re a competitor, they will try to tear you down, and you‘ll start believing it, and you can‘t do that.
“Go to your people. Trust in the process. Read your books and trust in the Big Man‘s plan upstairs. And just keep getting up and going to work on it.
“A lot of self-reflection through all this, but I had a group that believed in me, and they didn‘t let me get down,” he said of his challenges in 2023.
Minimal Changes in the Rankings
Ross Chastain moves up 2 spots to P4 with the win, but Truex remains P1, Byron P2, and Kyle Busch P3. Nashville was another tough weekend for the Ford camp- no more so than Ryan Blaney who had a hard crash into the pit road retaining wall, finishing 36th and falling 3 positions to P8.
