MARTINSVILLE, VA — A late-race pit gamble for Larson paid off big time positioning the Hendrick №5 team for the final run to the checkered flag. With 15 laps to go Larson opened up a gap on Joey Logano, Truex Jr, Hamlin, and Briscoe driving away for the win. It was the second win of the season for Larson who joins his teammate William Byron as the only multiple race winners on the year. During the week, Larson was also named one of NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers ever, as well.
“I feel like [crew chief] Cliff [Daniels] and everybody did a great job all day on pit road, making the right calls and having great pit stops and it all kind of worked out for me there at the end, we had a great car, that was the best my car had been,‘‘ said Larson, whose final 30 laps out front were the only laps he led on the day.

RANKINGS IMPACT:
C. Bell holds onto the top spot with a 16th place finish and stage points earned. With the win, Kyle Larson moves up to P2 and Ross Chastain loses a spot, now P3. Justin Haley moved up 8 spots as a result of the penalty points being restored after the Kaulig Racing appeal.
