BROOKLYN, MI — The NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway started Sunday and ended on Monday with Tyler Reddick capturing his second win of the season in a double overtime finish.

Just after the first stage on Sunday rain moved over the track forcing NASCAR to red flag the event and resume the 200 lap race on Monday.

Incidents and Challenges

The race was not without its share of incidents. Kyle Larson pushed his car to the limit, but unfortunately, it resulted in a crash that took him out of contention, finishing 34th.

Larson’s miscue had a major effect on the Regular Season Championship with race winner Reddick now taking the lead by 10 points over Chase Elliott, who led laps but finished 15th.

Another dramatic incident involved Corey LaJoie, who experienced a wild ride that had fans holding their breath as his car went airborn and he landed on his roof and slid to a stop. Thankfully, LaJoie walked away uninjured.
