HOMESTEAD, FL — It was one of the best finishes so far in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs races — three different leaders in the final three laps — 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick went “full send” into Turn 4 on the last lap to win his first NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway and lock himself into the Championship 4 race in Phoenix on November 10.

After a Kyle Larson spin, Reddick went to work on the restart with 7 laps remaining in the race. It appeared his older tires might prevent the car from sticking, but at the white flag Reddick passed his team co-owner, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, entering Turn 1. Then he moved high up against the wall to pass Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney through Turns 3–4 to win the Straight Talk Wireless 400 and secure his spot in the Championship 4, in two weeks at Phoenix Raceway.

Playoff Standings after Homestead-Miami puts Elliott, Blaney and Hamlin in must-win positions heading into next week’s race at Martinsville Speedway. Bell, Byron, and Larson are best positioned to secure the two remaining spots in Phoenix. Team Penske’s Joey Logano claimed the first Championship 4 entry last week at Las Vegas, and with Reddick’s victory Sunday, only two positions are still available for the race for the 2024 title.
