Kyle Larson holds on to P1 in the rankings after a roller coaster day. He earned Pole Position to start the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 with the fastest laps in both rounds of qualifying on Saturday. After leading 77 laps and winning Stage 1, Larson lost a right-rear wheel under caution at Lap 115, forcing a two-lap penalty on pit road. The penalty equated to joining the field 2 laps down, but the Hendrick №5 team fought back onto the lead lap by the end of Stage 2. More trouble in Stage 3 pushed Larson back to mid-pack, where after two restarts in NASCAR overtime he ultimately finished in 21st place.
The Big Movers:
Byron’s 3rd place at Texas moves him up 2 spots to P2, but the biggiest mover up the rankings was SHR’s Chase Briscoe, whos 6th place finish jumps him up 6 spots to P14. An 8th place finish moves Austin Dillion back into the GFT Top 25, his first top 10 of the 2024 season.
